What You’re Most Likely To Get Addicted To According To Your Zodiac Sign

While addictions are something we all deal with, every addiction is a symptom of a larger problem.

Whether what we seek is connection, approval or inner peace, every sign in the zodiac comes with its own set of problems. The addictions listed below are really just symptoms of those problems.

Obviously addiction is a serious topic, and hopefully no one ever has to deal with a serious problem with substances. But even if they never take a puff or a snort, theseare the drugs that I believe best represent the struggle that each sign in the zodiac has to overcome.

Aries (March 21 April 19): Cocaine

If you asked an Aries what frustrates them most about life, they’d tell you that it doesn’t go fast enough. They’re the babies of the zodiac, the youngest sign, and like toddlers, their personalities are a confusing mix of over-confidence and neediness.

Cocaine works to exacerbate their already inflated sense of self-importance and gives an Aries the illusory sense of moving faster than everyone else. The paradox is, of course, that it isn’t until an Aries is willing to slow down and face problems with determination and patience that they ever get anything done.

Taurus (April 20 May 20): Food or Weed (Or Both)

Remember that patience and determination that Aries lacked? Taurus has plenty of it, almost to a fault. Taurus is ruled by the planet Venus, which endows them with a great deal of patience (sometimes translating to laziness), as well as an appreciation for all things sensory — taste, touch, smell, etc.

You might think MDMA would be the easiest drug for a Taurus to get addicted to, but because of how lazy they are, it’s unlikely they would go to the trouble of finding it. The most fitting addiction for a Taurus is food — simply because of it’s accessibility.

They are slow-movers who do not appreciate being put out of their way. They don’t have the kind of ambition that a crack or meth habit would require, because you can’t get those delivered to your front door.

Gemini (May 21 June 20): Social Media

When Geminis want to avoid their feelings or the present moment, the most characteristic way for them to do so is through some form of compulsive communication. I’m not talking deep-digging intellectual conversation that plumbs the depths of the soul; they need a conversational jungle gym.

They need to be able to roam from one topic to another — maybe circling back to their original point, maybe not. Social media works in coordination with this feature of a Gemini’s personality all too well, and some studies show that Facebook can be more addictive than booze.

Social media also supports Gemini’s tendency toward a dilettante lifestyle: doing many things, but never really diving too deep into any of them. Gemini would benefit from cultivating self-discipline by taking breaks from the Internet entirely and channelling their pursuit of mental stimulation by doing something that promotes concentration, like reading.

Cancer (June 21 July 22): Heroin

Cancer is a sign associated with the mother and the home. Cancers are an extremely moody sign, and like any water sign, when they are in distress, they will retreat from the outside world.

Cancers’ favorite place to retreat happens to be their homes, where they derive most of their comfort, like crabs to a hole in the ground.

From what I understand/from what it looks like, heroin makes you feel like you’re a baby breastfeeding again, so characteristically speaking, heroin would be just perfect for a Cancer.

Leo (July 23 August 22): Shopping

Leo can be a very materialistic sign, and vanity is one of their number one character traits. Hand a Leo a credit card, and you’ve got a vice just waiting to happen. They’re attracted to excess, and they enjoy splurging on themselves with gusto.

Women with their sun in Leo may have a penchant for buying expensive shoes/jewelry/lingerie, and the men may make purchases in the form of nice cars or the latest gadgets. The flashier the purchase, the better.

While every addiction is a symptom of a larger issue, the thing Leo truly seeks is to be in the spotlight. To be seen. To be witnessed. Not until they truly begin to see themselves as the powerful beings that they are will they cultivate the kind of unshakeable confidence they seek to gain from the material world.

Virgo (August 23 September 22): Codependency

Virgo is a sign associated with service. They are naturally very gifted caretakers, with a keen ability to problem-solve. The shadow side of this talent for helping others is that it draws Virgo to try to gain a sense of purpose in their own lives by devotingthemselvesentirely to someone else and forgetting about their own well-being.

A Virgo may, on a subconscious level, seek out relationships with addicts or those struggling with mental illness, people who don’t seem capable of caring for themselves. By doing so, a Virgo can avoid their own lives by consistently having to put out fires in the lives of others.

The more dependent that person becomes, the more resentful Virgo is, feeling just as powerless to stop themselves from helping as an alcoholic does when he/she tries to stop drinking. One thing for Virgos to take note of: You cannot allow someone else to cross your boundary, and then get mad at them for it.

Libra (September 23 October 22): Love

Libra is the sign of fairness and equality. But for a sign symbolized by the scales of justice, they’re not very balanced people. The problem for Libra is two-fold.

First, they believe that everything should be fair. This already rose-colored view of the world sets them up for disappointment, and when things don’t go the way they planned, they tend to retaliate by trying to drown everyone with their tears.

Second, many Librans don’t see themselves as being complete without someone else to balance them out. Libra will make the mistake of inviting someone to sleep with them and then kindly inviting them to move into their homes.

What Librans ultimately need to seek is to balance themselves (and their unrealistic expectations of others) from within and to stop seeking partnership like they’re looking for shelter during the apocalypse.

Scorpio: (October 23 November 21): Sex/Porn

Sex is a likely addiction for Scorpio, but for a sign who cherishes their solitude as much as Scorpios do, porn is really ideal. Not only does porn appeal to Scorpios because of their voyeuristic nature, but it also appeals to them because they can indulge in it without having to bother with another person. They are an incredibly complex sign in that what they want (true intimacy and passion with another person) is what they fear the most.

Scorpios have a sexual appetite that goes unrivaled by anyone else in the zodiac, so it takes a special person to keep up. A friend of mine who is a Scorpio bought a brand new iPad. He was so excited to jerk off when he got home that he shattered the screen with his belt buckle before he even got his dick in his hand. So.

Scorpio would benefit from really diving into the negative beliefs that fuel their fears with the help of a very skilled therapist or counselor. Turning their fears into a wish list (i.e., I hope I stay alone forever because then I will always be in control of my emotions) is especially helpful in uncovering these beliefs.

Sagittarius (November 22 December 21): Gambling/Drinking

Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planetary giver of gifts and luck. This makes people with their sun in Sagittarius a lucky bunch who are expansive in their approach to life, forever reaching for knowledge, understanding and answers.

They have an unflinching optimism in their belief in themselves, making them quick to take a gamble on anything from a game of poker to a drunken drive down the freeway. Gambling and drinking also appeals to a Sagittarius because of their very sociable natures.

Capricorn (December 22 January 19): Pills/Eating Disorders

Being highly concerned with their status in society, Capricorns are more likely to get addicted to something that can be hidden easily or at least disguised as socially acceptable. They are fiercely protective of their reputations and work very hard to rise to the top of the ladder of their chosen field.

Therefore, pills, which can always be passed off as being doctor-prescribed, or eating disorders, which often have the effect of being met first by compliments (and concern only if/when you’re caught) are the most likely vices for a Capricorn.

Most Capricorns would benefit greatly by relieving some of the pressure they put on themselves by shifting their focus from the outside world to the world within themselves, and by separating the values of society from the values of their higher selves.

Aquarius (January 20 February 18): Video Games/Cutting

Aquarius is a sign that has a tendency to intellectualize their emotions rather than deal with them at a gut level, and their choice of vice will reflect that tendency.

Video games allow an Aquarius the opportunity to channel their emotions into a fantasy, and cutting provides an emotional bloodletting that doesn’t involve actual human tears. Both are a compartmentalized way of dealing with unpleasant feelings, which suits the Aquarian mindset.

The reason Aquarians tend to intellectualize their emotions is they feel so acutely tuned into human kind that they lose their connection to themselves as human beings. They forget that they are individuals, that they must give themselves the same compassion they offer to others.

The benefit of being an Aquarian is that they have an innately meditative mind, and if they take the time to voice their emotions, they will eventually begin to embody as individuals the kind of unity that they seek to create in the world.

Pisces (February 19 March 20): Alcohol

Pisces are the most sensitive, empathic sign in the zodiac. Pisceans already make their decisions based on their emotions, and they’ll cry at a sudden gust of wind, so they’re basically drunk already. Whatever the chemical compound is for alcohol, it must run through the Pisces bloodstream.

Being so empathic makes the world an exhausting place for them. They often attract people whose personalities are essentially black holes. To save themselves the trouble of creating healthy boundaries (which might hurt the feelings of others), Pisces seek a place to run and hide. More often than not, the bottle provides the perfect psychic shield.

Pisces are lucky, however, in that they happen to be older souls, and many of them are more naturally tuned into their higher selves. The likelihood of them picking themselves up and finding a healthier way of functioning is higher than average.

They benefit most by putting down the bottle entirely, abstaining from drugs and alcohol while working to create better boundaries and choosing more carefully who they surround themselves with.

London attacker Khalid Masood acted alone, say police – BBC News

Westminster attacker Khalid Masood acted alone and there is no information to suggest further attacks are planned, Scotland Yard has said.

Masood killed three people and injured 50 when he drove a car into pedestrians on Wednesday. He then fatally stabbed a police officer before being shot dead by police – all within 82 seconds.

Police said it was possible “we will never understand why he did this”.

The family of PC Keith Palmer said his bravery would be remembered.

MP Tobias Ellwood, who was among those who tried to save PC Palmer’s life, has said he is “heartbroken” that his efforts were not successful.

Deputy Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu said: “We still believe that Masood acted alone on the day and there is no information or intelligence to suggest there are further attacks planned.

“Even if he acted alone in the preparation, we need to establish with absolute clarity why he did these unspeakable acts to bring reassurance to Londoners, and to provide answers and closure for the families of those killed and the victims and survivors of this atrocity.

“We must all accept that there is a possibility we will never understand why he did this. That understanding may have died with him.

“Nevertheless, we are determined to understand if Masood was a lone actor inspired by terrorist propaganda or if others have encouraged, supported or directed him.”

Writing in two Sunday newspapers, both the home secretary Amber Rudd and Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson called on social media companies like Google and Facebook to be “more proactive” in stamping out extremist websites.

In a statement released on Saturday, the family of PC Palmer addressed those who tried to save his life.

“There was nothing more you could have done,” it said.

“You did your best and we are just grateful he was not alone.

“We care about him being remembered for his selfless bravery and loving nature. We miss him so much, but we are also incredibly proud of Keith.”

The family said they had been “overwhelmed by the love and support” shown for them and for PC Palmer and they praised the support from the police.

82-second attack

  • 14:40:08 – the car that Masood was driving over Westminster Bridge first mounted the pavement on the northbound side
  • 14:40:38 – after continuing towards Bridge Street along both the footpath and road, Masood crashes into the perimeter fence of the Palace of Westminster
  • 14:40:59 – the first 999 call was made to the Met police reporting the incident
  • 14:41:30 – Masood left the vehicle and was shot by a police firearms officer inside the Palace of Westminster

In a statement, also released on Saturday, Mr Ellwood said: “I am heartbroken that I could not do more for PC Keith Palmer who gave his life in holding the line against terrorism and defending democracy.”

The Foreign Office minister said he was “deeply humbled and overwhelmed” by messages of support.

“I played only a small part that day, doing what I was taught to do, and am honoured to have been invited to join the Privy Council afterwards.” he said.

“It is right that we concentrate our thoughts on the victims as we stand side by side to protect all that we hold dear, including our precious values and way of life which will always prevail.”

Masood’s other victims were Aysha Frade, who was in her 40s and worked at a London sixth-form college, US tourist Kurt Cochran, 54, and retired window cleaner Leslie Rhodes, 75, from south London.

A 58-year-old man, who was arrested in Birmingham the morning after the attack under the Terrorism Act, remains in custody, and a 32-year-old woman who was arrested in Manchester, remains on police bail, Metropolitan Police have said.

Eleven people were initially arrested over the incident and nine people in total have been released without charge.

The Metropolitan Police said Masood, 52, who had previous criminal convictions but none for terrorism, had used a number of aliases.

At birth, he was registered in Dartford, Kent, as Adrian Elms, but later took his stepfather’s name becoming Adrian Ajao in childhood.

In the early 2000s, he was convicted of causing grievous bodily harm after slashing a man across the face with a knife in a pub.

‘The Walking Dead’ broke a 2016 Twitter record

Image: amc

LOS ANGELES The Walking Dead just set a Twitter record.

The AMC show’s Sunday night Season 7 debut was the most-tweeted TV episode of 2016, not including sports/special events, according to Twitter.

Globally, there were 4.6 million tweets. The top moment on the social media platform came around 9:30 p.m. EST after the (sob!) second death of a character in that same episode.

The show has long been considered one of the most buzz-worthy television series.

During the 2015-2016 season, the zombie drama was the No. 1 most-tweeted series in the U.S. with an average of 435,000 tweets sent per episode.

Texas grand jury issues no indictment in death of Sandra Bland

A Texas grand jury on Monday night decided not to indict anyone in the death of a 28-year-old black woman.

A team of special prosecutors have been investigating the death of Sandra Bland, who was stopped for a traffic violation by Waller County, Texas, police on July 10. Three days later, on July 13, she was found dead in her cell.

A police dashcam video shows that Trooper Brian Encinia, refused to allow Bland to leave her car. Encinia is heard shouting, I will light you up! while pointing his stun gun at her. He then pulled Bland from her vehicle and placed her under arrest.

Encinia pulled her over for failing to use her turn signal during a lane change. Bland was on her way from Illinois to Prairie View A&M University, her alma mater, where she had recently secured a job.

The Waller County coroner ruled Blands death, caused by strangulation with a garbage bag, a suicide. But her family and protesters across the U.S. say they don’t believe medical examiners’ conclusions andclaim police used excessive force while unnecessarily taking her into custody.

The no-indictment decision sparked renewed outrage on social media, where#SandraBland trended and sympathizers expressed their frustration with the system.

Democratic presidential candidate and former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley used the occasion to call for criminal justice reform.

Sen.Bernie Sanders(I-Vt.), who is also seeking the presidency as a Democrat, charged in a statement released after the jury’s decision that Bland would not have died were she white.

Sandra Bland should not have died while in police custody. Theres no doubt in my mind that she, like too many African-Americans who die in police custody, would be alive today if she were a white woman, Sanders said. My thoughts are with her family and her loved ones tonight. We need to reform a very broken criminal justice system.

Earlier this year,Sanders quietly met with Blands mother, Geneva Reed-Veal. Although he kept the encounter private, he promised her mother to “Say Her Name,” which he did at the first Democratic presidential debate on Oct. 13.

The grand jury will reconvene for remaining issues in early January, according to Darrell Jordan, one of the special prosecutors who spoke to the Washington Post.Jordan declined to comment on how the evidence led to the jury’s decision.

In August, Blands family filed a federal wrongful death lawsuit over the young woman’s death. A judge set the trial date for Jan. 23, 2017.
